Abstract: Special libraries face various difficulties in their quest to give their services to their users. These vary from under-funding, staffing and lack of resources. Are these problems amplified when the libraries are small and funded by the government? Or are these problems not applicable to them and they are working in perfect conditions? This long essay tries to answer these questions by taking three such libraries and evaluating various sectors, namely their staff, funding, resources and the services they offer to their users. The data collected from these libraries was by means of a set of questions asked to the officers in charge of their respective libraries. The method chosen to evaluate the above-mentioned data was by comparing it with official standards for special libraries.
