Abstract: The purpose of this work is to highlight some anomalies in the temporal decay of seismic sequences following a mainshock with magnitude M≥7. The decay can be modeled as a non-stationary Poissonian process where the intensity function is given by the Omori’s formula. The method used estimates the absolute value of differences between the observed and theoretical temporal trend. Several days before the occurrence of large aftershock we can see some “seismic anomalies in the decay” that could be considered as precursors.
