Abstract: This is an abridged version of a report prepared by four participants in the British Council course on Design and Evaluation in ELT Project Management. It refers to a survey carried out using 20 respondents associated with the course. The writers are aware that the small size and specialist nature of this group limit any statistical significance of the results. but the conclusions will nonetheless be of interest to ELT Management SIG members. This report presents the results of a brief pilot survey to determine the demand for channels of communication in the field of ELT project design, implementation and evaluation and what the format and content of such communication might be. The survey arose from the feelings expressed by some participants of the British Council course that there was inadequate communication between people working in this field and that a newsletter, journal or other form of communication might meet a need. A survey instrument was designed to establish the extent of such interest and a profile of potential readership. A publisher was also consulted to gauge likely commercial interest
