Abstract: | This study collected the views of university students about archival repositories by means of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to a selected sample of university students who are more prone to visit such archival repositories. This was done to acquire information about the perception of university students as regards the major governmental archival repositories in Malta. The data collected was analyzed by a statistical software package, SPSS (v. 17.0) and presented in graphical and tabular form. The information obtained shows the perceptions of university students on Governmental Archives and their services in the Maltese Islands. These range from the services offered by the said archives to the outreach achieved by the same repositories. This study gives a series of recommendations for the consideration of archival repositories in order to improve their services and operations and moreover, to increase the awareness among university students as regards to archival repositories. |
