Abstract: The archaeological record of Australia's deserts provides evidence pertinent to a number of major debates in archaeology, including the chronology and character of the dispersal of Homo sapiens across the world in the Late Pleistocene, and when and how human began to inhabit arid environments. While broadly framed in these terms, the book 'The Archaeology of Australia's Deserts' is also an account of the development of Australian Aborginal societies.
