Abstract: The aim of this long essay is to identify the barriers encountered by persons with disability at the workplace and the problem of unemployment. Literature outlining policies and procedures that organisations can develop to create equal opportunity environment for persons with disability was reviewed to serve as a foundation for the research questions. The problems which persons with disability seem to encounter, both in the transition period from school to employment and in the recruitment process itself, were identified too. Another issue discussed is the implementation of the law on equal opportunity. This study includes a survey carried out at McNeill's Ltd. where a number of persons with disability have been employed. This study seeks to investigate how all the stakeholders in this particular company view this inclusion and whether the conditions the persons with disability working here are equal to the rest of the workforce. Questionnaires have been set out in a structural face-to-face interview at the factory itself. Apart form the questionnaires; an overt observation was carried out to help in comparing the data collected to what was observed on site.
