Leisure and young people in Malta

Abstract

This work is the result of a research I carried out locally among thirty young people. The aim of the research was to explore patterns of leisure and leisure time use among young people. This research highlights points which youth workers working within the local context, should be aware of. These include the amount of leisure time available to young people, leisure activities engaged in by young people and problems encountered during leisure. Furthermore, a qualitative analysis of the outcome was carried out This was based on theories of leisure, psychological theories and similar work which has been carried out elsewhere.
