The law of probation in the Maltese community

Abstract

This research work delves into the probation system in Malta, since its earliest practices, up to the present situation. It also considers implications for future developments. Although my research reveals that current practice leaves much to be desired, it is not intended to throw a negative light, and I hope that it may be instrumental in helping practitioners by drawing them nearer in attaining those high ideals that have always been evident in dealing with offenders.
