Abstract: This work aims to define what knowledge and measures Health and Safety are specific to the function of in relation to Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning technicians. The research is based on 13 years of personal experience in this field providing guidelines for improvement of the conditions of work of HV AC technician. The guidelines are directed towards all HVAC technicians in Malta although much of what is intended in the guidelines will be of value to other countries. The guidelines include: • The importance of health and Safety • Handling of refrigerants • Handling of loads • Hand and power tools • Arc welding- Oxyacetylene - Cutting I Grinding • Working at heights • Vibration - Noise - Dust • Extreme temperatures • Duct - Drain cleaning • Electrical • Hygiene and Health • And other essential information found in appendices
