Abstract: | Policy-making is a process that leads to a ‘set of activities that governments engage in for the purpose of changing their economy and society’ (Peters, 2015, p. 1). Applied to tourism, this definition suggests that tourism policy-making is a social process that guides government decisions, choices and actions, aimed at influencing tourism activity in a destination to make a positive difference to the economy, to the social well-being of residents and tourists and to environmental conditions. |
