| Abstract: | Tourism is a very substantial contributor to the creation of our nation's wealth. Popular consensus casts the industry in the role of a major player and prime motor of the Maltese economy. My Ministry's main mission is to ensure that this important stream in the nation's economic activity receives deserved recognition as well as constant Government and popular support. My Ministry and the Malta Tourism Authority are therefore very mindful that uncontrolled growth and inconsiderate development are often the cause of social, cultural and environmental degradation. |
