Abstract: | This Research Study aims at eliciting information about the various phenomena that are attracting young persons to join the Police Force. The large number of applicants for every Call for Application, shows that the Police Corp is very popular among young people. Worth mentioning is the fact that this institution caters for persons of different educational levels. This makes it more accessible to young persons. The Research strives to find out whether this institution is meeting the expectations of these young recruits; what importance these young people give to specific personal qualities, to interpersonal relationships and to professional achievement in their work. Conditions of service together with opportunities for self-development and fulfilment are discussed with the aim of proposing possible courses of action for the future. This Research is also intended to act as an introduction to a similar study which will be conducted in the near future with full established policemen. |
