Abstract: This paper focuses on how Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) was introduced and has developed in Malta. It discusses ESD in formal, informal and non-formal education, focusing on the Centre for Environmental Education and Research, the National Minimum Curriculum and the contribution of Home Economics via a number of routes.
