Abstract: The hazards present at the heavy plant and vehicle workshop of the Manufacturing and Services Division (MSD) Kordin were identified and grouped under four categories namely: Mechanical, Physical, Environmental and Electrical Hazards. A degree of tolerability of risk for each hazard was obtained by rating the severity of the hazard against the likelihood of occurrence of risk from the hazard. For the analysis of the risk tolerability both scales from Croner's Risk Assessment and an HSE scale were used for more accuracy taking also into account the number of people at risk. Risks were then grouped under three categories that included: (i) Intolerable Risks (ii) Tolerable Risks Pending Changes (iii) Acceptable Risks Recommendations according to the findings were finally suggested.
