DOMINOES - Digital cOMpetences INformatiOn EcoSystem
The DOMINOES project is co-funded by the European Union Erasmus+ Programme (Agreement Number 2021-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000031158) with a total budget of EUR 255,948.00.
The DOMINOES project aims to reduce social polarization by combating fake news and online disinformation in two target groups: teaching staff/researchers from partner universities and students in the field of security, intelligence studies and social sciences. To help foster resilience to fake news, propaganda and online disinformation of mentioned target groups, the DOMINOES project will facilitate and support their digital transformation and digital capabilities. With the goal of contributing to innovation and vocational education and training, through the DOMINOES project an innovative and interactive course incorporating both a digital and a classical course component will be designed and implemented.
This course will allow its participants to:
1) acquire new teaching skills and capabilities to innovate educational materials and adapt them to the ongoing digital transformation;
2) acquire advanced digital skills useful in detecting and countering propaganda, fake news and information manipulation leading to social polarization, extremism and discrimination in society;
3) learn how to use these skills to foster resilience to disinformation strategies, information manipulation, deep fakes etc., and how to further replicate and disseminate knowledge and know-how on how to spot, uncover and expose disinformation and conspiratorial narratives in news and online content.
Ultimately, the DOMINOES project will contribute to reducing polarization, as those vulnerable to disinformation will be able to understand how fake news directs them to adopt points of view which have no grounding in reality.
