Background

This Landscape Photography Course will give you a better understanding of what it takes to push your landscape photography to the next level with tips and techniques on how to capture and post process your images. 

Gilbert is a passionate hiker and traveller, always looking for new landscapes and natural wonders to inspire his photography. He started hiking around Malta in 2009 and was amazed by the pristine coastline and valleys that he discovered in his own country. Combining his passion for the outdoors with photography, Gilbert wants to create awareness and respect for our natural heritage by sharing its magic through his vision and also by showing others the best ways to capture Malta’s natural beauty. He also supports Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park through the sales of fine art prints of his photographic collections.

The course consists of four sessions

Session 1
11 January 2020 - 10:00 - 12:00

ESSENTIALS OF LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

Note that participants can take advantage of a 10% discount from selected local distributors should they wish to buy any photographic equipment before Session 2.

Session 2
18 January 2020 - 15:30 - 18:30

FIELD SESSION

What was learnt in the first session will be put into practice. Individual attention will be given. This will be an outdoor session, so adequate clothing and sturdy shoes are required for hiking. Photographic equipment is also needed (SLR or Mirrorless digital camera which can be used in manual mode and a tripod).

Session 3
25 January 2020 - 10:00 - 13:00

POST PROCESSING

Session 4 
8 February 2020 - 10:00 - 12:00
EVALUATION and FEEDBACK

Between Session 3 and 4 the participant will have had time to experiment with and process the work. In Session 4, the participant will be given the opportunity to show his/ her work and discuss the photo with the group.

Please note:

* This course requires having a basic knowledge of photography and photographic equipment.

* The course is subject to weather conditions and outdoor sessions may have to be postponed.

* The course is subject to a minimum and maximum number of participants. The maximum number will be 12.           
* Coffee and tea will be provided during the indoor sessions.
