The Malta Enterprise Life Sciences Park, in collaboration with the Programme for Mediterranean Culinary Culture of the University of Malta, is pleased to invite you to a public lecture by Prof. Suzanne Piscopo on: 'Food Choices and Food Labels: When reading is more than just for pleasure'.
Food labels can be a valuable tool for consumers wishing to make informed choices about the foods they purchase. These labels can help consumers understand what they are actually buying – what it contains, where it was sourced/produced, its nutritional properties and by when it should be eaten. They can also alert the consumer to special or problematic ingredients and to qualities of the food that increase its sustainability value. This lecture will offer guidance on what to look out for in food labels, to make better choices for the consumer’s own health and that of the planet.
Prof. Suzanne Piscopo is Associate Professor of Nutrition, Family and Consumer Studies and Head of the Department of Health, Physical Education and Consumer Studies (HPECS) in the Faculty of Education of the University of Malta.
The lecture will start at 18:30 on Thursday 26 May; to register kindly send an email to rsvp@maltaenterprise.com.
