Between 16 and 18 May a number of events are being organised at the University of Malta to mark the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. Put together in a collaborative effort by the Department of English (Faculty of Arts), the British Council (Malta), the Department of Theatre Studies (School of Performing Arts) and the University’s Humanities, Medicine, and Sciences Programme (HUMS), they feature the participation of two distinguished visiting speakers – Prof. Michael Dobson (Chair of the Shakespeare Institute at the University of Birmingham) and Prof. Nicola Watson (Open University) – as well as twelve academics from across the University of Malta, all coming together to celebrate the richness and diversity of Shakespeare’s art.
Academic staff, students and members of the general public are warmly invited to attend. Entrance is free, but note that the event of 18 May requires reservation: please send an email to conferences@um.edu.mt to book your seat for that day.
