The workshop 'Introduction to gender mainstreaming in University curricula and research' will be held on 22 and 23 March in Room 414, MaKS Building (on the third floor).

This workshop, organised by the Gender Issues Committee and the Department of Gender Studies with the support of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, will be led by Dr Sabine Ludwig, Charité Medical University Berlin, Germany.

Dr Sabine Ludwig holds advanced degrees in economics and Chinese studies. After graduation, she worked at the European Commission in the Directorate General for External Relations in Brussels, Belgium. Following this assignment, she joined the Delegation of the European Commission to China in Beijing, where she worked in the Development and Cooperation section.  After six years in China, she returned to Germany where she started to work at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the Medical Faculty of Humboldt University and Free University Berlin. Her first assignment was as Research Associate within the Master programme International Health. After this, she started to work at the Department of Medical Education at Charité, where she was in charge of integrating gender medicine issues and gender concepts into the new modular medical curriculum as well as developing gender sensitive quality management and evaluation measures and tools.

Currently, she works at the Robert Koch Institute and is in charge of the German Women’s Health Report. Dr. Sabine Ludwig has obtained her doctorate degree in the field of Gender Medicine, Women’s Health, Gender Mainstreaming and Curriculum Development from the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
