The first onsite in person GYNOCARE Conference, together with the Management Committee and Core Group meetings will be held at the University of Malta Valletta Campus, Malta on the 23 and 24 May 2022. Hybrid facilities will also be made available.
Conference registration is free of charge as it is supported by COST (European Co-operation in Science and Technology website). COST is a funding agency for research and innovation networks.
This conference is part of the ongoing collaboration within the GYNOCARE COST Action (CA18117), chaired by Prof Jean Calleja Agius from the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Malta.
GYNOCARE is a European network for Gynaecological Rare Cancer research: from Concept to Cure.
There are over 25 eminent speakers from over 15 countries. International experts include Prof David Faraggi, former Rector of Haifa University, Israel; Prof Antonio Giordano from the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine, Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, as well as Dr Gemma Gatta from Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Milan, Italy and Dr Sharon O’Toole from Trinity College, Dublin, among others. Local key speakers include Dr Bridget Ellul who is the ELSI Adviser at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking at the University of Malta; Dr Nikolai Pace from the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery; Prof Charles Savona Ventura from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and Dr Miriam Azzopardi who is the consultant in charge of the Cancer Register and Rare Diseases Register at the Department of Health Information and Research at the Ministry for Health, Malta.
