Faith: What is it?
We can read Hebrews 11.1 thus: “Now faith is the foundation of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. This sounds contradictory, however, a close look at the experiential element in the way we acquire knowledge and exercise trust, shows that even in matters of faith experience plays a crucial role not least via the voice of conscience.

The Star of Bethlehem in Matthew’s Gospel
The Gospel of Matthew is the only gospel that mentions the star of Bethlehem in the Infancy Narratives. The Bible: Which Bible?
We are accustomed to viewing the Bible as the Word of God, and rightly so, but we do not perhaps sufficiently appreciate that this Word is expressed in words of men according to how humans write and draw up texts. It will be shown that the Bible is also a human artefact that took time to receive its current shape and that, since we do not have a single biblical autograph, often we have to decide which version of the Bible to follow.
