Postgraduate students, University staff, as well as teachers of history are invited to two lectures on the history of education to be given by Professor Gary McCulloch from the University of London. Professor McCulloch is also Affiliate Professor with the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Educational Research (UM).

Monday 13 February, 17:00 – 19:00: “New directions in the history of education”
Wednesday 15 February, 17:00-19:00: “'History wars’ - treatment of wars in history teaching”
Attendance is free, but registration is required. Indicate your intention to attend one or both lectures by sending an email.

Gary McCulloch is the inaugural Brian Simon Professor of the History of Education and the founding director of the International Centre for Historical research in Education at UCL Institute of Education. He is a past president of the UK History of Education Society (2005-2007) and a previous Editor of the international Journal History of Education. He is widely published, with his most recent editorial work being the 6-volume A Cultural History of Education (Bloomsbury, 2020).
