Time: 09:00 - 21:00
In this first exhibition of artworks of leading Maltese abstract painter Alfred Chircop since his demise in 2015, the curators - Dr Christian Attard, Dr Mark Sagona and Dr Charlene Vella - have brought together around seventy works by the artist and his most notable contemporaries.
The exhibition, divided into different themes, contextualises Chircop's continuous struggle in his perpetual creative quest, and draws parallels between his works and those of other artists while creating unexpected dialogues between works created in Malta, Italy and England.
The event is being organized by the Alfred Chircop Trust in collaboration with the Department of Art and Art History, University of Malta.
The event is possible thanks to Heritage Malta, Prevarti Art Restoration and Conservation, db Foundation, The Farsons Foundation, Mapfre Middlesea and Visit Malta.
The exhibition will be open from 20 September until 3 November 2024.
