Calling all young tech enthusiasts! Join us at the Montekristo Estate Arena for an action-packed weekend at the IEEE Region 8 Robot Championships on 23 and 24 November, 2024.
Watch robots from around the world as they battle it out in thrilling games, showcasing the amazing possibilities of engineering and robotics. Between the games, you’ll get the chance to try out fun STEM activities where you can learn more about robotics, ICT engineering, and even try your hand at some coding!

23 November: Opening Ceremony at 14:00, Games from 15:30 – 20:00
24 November: Games start at 11:00, Awards at 18:00

Games:
➡️ Time of Fall – Competing robots aim to topple their opponents as quickly as possible. ⏳
➡️ Climate Chaos – Robots navigate a climate disaster maze to raise awareness about climate change. 🌱
➡️ Weight in Line – Players score by placing weights in specific positions 🏋️♂️
➡️ Hanging Hazard – Teams need to avoid suspending hazards and push rugby balls to score points 🏉
This event is organised by the IEEE Malta Section, IEEE Region 8, and the IEEE Malta Computer Society, and is sponsored by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Research, and Innovation. It’s the perfect chance to see how STEM can be both fun and fascinating with action-packed competitions, hands-on activities, and engaging exhibits suitable for students and families alike.
