Speaker’s Profile:
Dr Laura Liverani is a documentary photographer, filmmaker and lecturer, currently working between Milan and Berlin after being based in Tokyo for a decade. Her work has been published in newspapers, magazines and books globally, including The Guardian, Marie Claire, Geo and Corriere della Sera.
Liverani has held exhibitions in galleries, museums, and festivals internationally, including the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, the G/P Gallery in Tokyo, the Japan Foundation in Sydney, and the Rautenstrauch-Jost Museum in Cologne, Germany.
As a visual artist and researcher, she has collaborated with museums and universities such as the Oslo Historisk Museum, the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Tokyo and the UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing in Newcastle. Laura Liverani regularly lectures in photography at universities across Europe and is a full member of the international photojournalism agency Prospekt.
