UM Wolves RFC was founded in 2017 by a group of University students and has been participating in Malta's senior rugby competitions since 2021. This is the club's men team's fourth season taking part in the domestic league, and it has come on in leaps and bounds since registering its first-ever competitive win just over a year ago.

The club is unbeaten so far this season: 8 wins out of 8 games in the league and another win in the knockout cup at the start of the season have made for a perfect season so far. This weekend, the club has a chance to make history: a win in their match against Stompers RFC on Saturday afternoon will be enough to be mathematically declared as champions with three league matches still to be played.

After the club's women's team became national champions last season, this would be another chapter of history written in the books of our club, Maltese rugby, and the University as we believe this is the first time ever that the University team will have won rugby's top league in Malta.
