From Monday 7 April to Friday 11 April, the Department of Media and Communications, Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences will receive three guests from the UK:
- Dr Richard Danbury (St George’s City, University of London)
- Mr Pervez Khan (De Montfort University) and
- Award-winning investigative journalist, Katie Tarrant.
An intensive programme of activities related to Journalism and its instruction has been organised that is intended to strengthen this area of study at the University of Malta.
During the week, academic staff of the Department will have the opportunity for knowledge exchange on teaching methods and practices in journalism education from the perspectives in the UK and Malta. Three day long round-table sessions have been set up for this purpose.
Dr Danbury and Mr Khan will also run multiple hands-on workshops with students of the Bachelor of Communications programme.
On Wednesday 9 April, the visitors will also be participating in a public lecture hosted by the British High Commission that will take place in the Aula Prima, University of Malta Valletta campus from 18:00 - 19:30 on the future of investigative journalism.
