The University of Malta Ä .F. Abela Junior College is currently celebrating 25 years of service since its foundation, and to mark this important milestone, on Monday 19 July 2021, it launched a commemorative silver coin in collaboration with the Malta Coin Centre at the Central Bank of Malta.
The coin was designed and minted at the Royal Dutch Mint. The obverse of the coins features the coat of arms of Malta. The reverse shows the facade of the Ä .F. Abela Junior College.
The Junior College officially opened its doors for the first time on 1st October 1995. It occupies an impressive building and surrounding grounds designed by Victor Anastasi. The building, which was originally known as the Polytechnic in Msida, was planned and constructed during 1962-1966.
