During the exchange, JC students immersed themselves in local life and traditions, where they were hosted by Belgian families, attended lesson, set up a display with typical food items, and had a memorable time interacting and learning about one another, whilst making lifelong friendships.
Highlights from this trip were the guided activities in the cities of Bruges and Brussels. Students also had the opportunity to visit VIVES University, where they experienced the latest developments in VR technology, and collaborated in creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations. Whilst in Brussels, they visited the European Parliament where they held a private meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The students had the opportunity to ask Ms. Metsola about the values and skills she adopted to hold such an important position.
This project perfectly illustrates how education does not have to happen between the four walls of a classroom but can be equally effective if done informally and creatively. The student exchange participants discussed the various topics through presentations, activities, group work, and by practicing interpersonal, IT, public speaking, and creativity skills.
This project is co-funded through the Erasmus+ Accreditation, and is coordinated by the JC International Office.
