The JC4Others Committee would like to thank all the staff and students for the immense support that was given during two concurrent fundraising events that took place during February 2023.
From the event Karnival B’Messaġġ the staggering sum of €895 was collected which includes the numerous extra donations that were given to support our cause. Our profound appreciation goes to the support staff, who provided us with all the equipment that we needed, as well as the Chaplaincy group, the members of the JC4Others committee and the Administration staff, who dedicated a lot of time and effort to make our event a successful one. While the event was memorable, the proceeds shall make a difference in the lives of others as a cheque of €500 will be given to St. Jeanne Antide Foundation, a cheque of €100 was donated to Caritas Foundation – Emergency Aid Fund to support the people of Turkey and Syria during the earthquakes disaster that is taking place. The rest will be deposited into the JC4Others Fund.
The Crowdfunding experience was a first for the JC4Others Committee. We were overwhelmed with the encouragement and appreciation of the staff to support the families in need within the Junior College community. We have collected the sum of €794. The first call was to help the family of a student who needed a washing machine. On a positive note, through the intervention of a social worker, the family is going to be provided with one. Since the needs of our students are varied and include even basic needs, we have decided to distribute the funds among our students by donating them a cheque of €100 each. The remaining will be deposited into the JC4Others fund to keep the balance in check.
The Committee would also like to thank those individuals who donate vouchers. These were given to the students too. While donating the cheques to the students individually, seeing their surprised faces is an absolute heart-warming experience. We have a lot to count our blessings for!
The students and their families extend their appreciation and thanks towards all of us who are helping them during these difficult times.
