Air quality is usually monitored using airborne particulate matter, some gases, and metal levels. In this talk, local data will be used to discuss the exposure to non-regulated pollutants in the indoor environment which goes beyond the experience of the outdoor environment. The probable health implications will also be discussed.
Noel Aquilina is an atmospheric chemist and exposure scientist, Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry within the University of Malta and affiliate researcher at the University of California, San Francisco. His expertise spans over interdisciplinary skills of air sampling, analytical chemistry method development, use of biomarkers, and machine learning to model exposure to pollutants.
