Tenishia Thornton, an alumna of the Junior College has earned the prestigious title Atlas Youth Athlete of the Year 2024 through a combination of votes from a panel of three sports journalists and an online public vote over the past few weeks. Katrina Micallef, a First Year student of the Junior College, was also named runner-up for the award.

This marks Tenishia’s third time winning the Youth Athlete of the Year Award, following her recognition as the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month of October.

One of her most remarkable achievements includes being crowned European Champion at the Junior Championships in Poland, where she delivered an outstanding performance, lifting a total of 201kg and setting a new national record.
