The Bioethics Seminar organised by the Junior College Department of Biology was conducted successfully between 28 February 2025 and 1 March 2025 at the Salini Resort. A total of 31 students participated in this seminar.
The seminar first focused on team building through a series of activities such as people bingo. Also group games were organised in which participants were given a number of challenges to take part in.
Ms Karen Buttigieg briefed students about bioethics and also discussed bioethical issues about in vitro fertilisation, Dr Michael Asciak discussed epigenetics and Dr Rosienne Farrugia discussed gene profiling. The participants were also divided into groups and prepared and presented presentations on agricultural biotechnology with the help of Ms Dorita Agius. The participants were given time to discuss these issues with the speakers and through a number of activities.
The seminar was once again a great success with a lot of positive vibes from our participants. The Department of Biology would like to thank all the participants that made this weekend an unforgettable one.
