Dear Students,
Primary HealthCare, through the National Immunisation Service Department and the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate, is pleased to offer the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine as part of the National Immunisation Programme, free of charge, to all individuals born from the year 2000 onwards.
While this vaccine has been administered to females in Malta since 2012, it is now also being offered to males aged 12 and above. If you have not yet received the HPV vaccine, we encourage you not to miss this important opportunity!
Why is it important to take the HPV vaccine?
The Gardasil 9® (HPV) vaccine offers protection against nine types of HPV viruses. It reduces the risk of genital warts by over 80% in both teens and adults, and it helps protect against HPV-related cancers, including cervical cancer and others.
Nurses from the National Immunisation Service and the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate will be visiting the University of Malta Junior College, Msida to administer the HPV vaccine to JC students. The dates for this visit will be on 19 and 21 November 2024.
We look forward to meeting you at the presentation and encourage you to take advantage of this valuable vaccination opportunity.
How can I apply?
If you are between 16 and 18 years of age, your parent's consent is needed (link below). The consent form should be brought on the vaccination day.
If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us on sexualhealthmalta.hdpd@gov.mt
