Congratulations to English A Level student Francesco Giuseppe Giorgino, for placing first in Juvenes Translatores with his fluent and accurate translation of ‘Pause Before You Post’, a text on digital literacy. The winning entry, translated from English to Maltese was particularly noted for maintaining the tone, meaning, and cultural context of the original text.

Juvenes Translatores is an annual EU-wide translation contest for 17-year-old secondary school students. The contest highlights the skill and creativity involved in language translation, and sees participants tackle texts from a range of genres, from literary works to technical writing. 

The College’s participation in this prestigious competition is coordinated by Dr Patricia Vella Briffa, Department of English.
