On Thursday 18 October 2024, second-year language students participated in “Multilingualism and language learning opportunities”, an online event organised by the

Directorate-General for Translations of the European Commission.

The students listened to the keynote speech on the importance of learning langauges. Then, they were invited to a question-and-answer session with a number of linguists who spoke about how they discovered languages, where they  studied and worked, and their tips for making languages part of a very rewarding career.

Learning languages always proves to be a valuable asset in the job market, providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as increased career prospects.
