On Monday 24 February and Monday 3 March 2025 some Biology Advanced level students were given the opportunity to visit the Faculty of Health Sciences at Mater Dei Hospital where they were briefed about the different courses and areas of study that they can choose. This was followed by a tour of the laboratories of the Faculty related to the different courses by Mr Gatt. The laboratories they visited included: the occupational therapy, nursing, physiotherapy, biomedical, chemistry, podiatry and midwifery. They were also given a brief overview of what happens in the podiatry lab and about a research that is undergoing in this sector by one of the lecturers. In the midwifery lab they met the mannequin Noelle 575 which can simulate birth. In the nursing labs they met some students and their lecturer who explained about preparation of food mixtures for the feeding tube, and finally, at the Department of Radiology, the lecturer explained the machines they have available for students and the mannequin. The students could also feel the lead overalls worn by radiologists.
