The JC Environmental Committee will be teaming up with the JC4Others Committee in order to promote the principles of reusing, repurposing and donating items while also celebrating the talents and creativity of our Junior College community. The event will take place on Monday 4 December and Tuesday 5 December 2023 at the Junior College Foyer between 08:00 and 13:00. Part of the proceeds will be deposited into the JC4Others fund and part will be donated to ‘Dar Merħba Bik Foundation’, Balzan. Staff and students are encouraged to participate to make the event a successful one.

‘Dar Merħba Bik’ provides a safe, secure and therapeutic emergency accommodation whilst working with women along with their children who have been; victim of violence, suffered gender-based violence and/or have been experiencing domestic violence, in order to help them establish a way of life which best meets their needs and helps them to develop their potential.

Participate in the donation of something of value initiative!

Do you own an item which you do not use but find it hard to throw away because you still see that it could be of value to someone? Donating these items will be simple:

1. bring the item to the Old Reception Room on Thursday 30 November between 11:00-13:00 or on Friday 1 December between 10:00-11:00 and 12:00-13:00
2. give us an idea of the price that you would like us to ask for it
3. collect the item back from the same room by appointment if you receive an email informing you that your item was not sold
4. unsold items that are not collected on the specified dates will be disposed of or donated.

To participate in the bake+ sale:

1. think of some baking goods, desserts that you can prepare/purchase and donate - to ensure hygiene, please wrap into single portions, ideally in food safe paper bags/wrapping
2. one can also donate preserves or craft items that are typically available in bazaars - preferably inform a member of the JC4Others Committee in advance of your intentions and the price that you suggest the items will be marked with
3. on Monday 4 December, please bring along the said items at the Junior College Foyer.
