In commemoration of International Human Right's Day, The Diversity Committee at Junior College organised a critical discussion entitled: Human Rights: A Race to the Ground? The captivating discussion explored the intricate connections between migration, racial dynamics, and human rights within the Maltese context. Speakers shared personal stories and professional insights, shedding light on how racial prejudice shapes systems and impacts the lived experiences of individuals locally. They also addressed the role of human rights in combating inequality and fostering inclusivity, offering pathways for rethinking migration policies and social attitudes in Malta.
In a time of rising inequality and social tension, this event underscored the importance of continued dialogue and collective action to build a more just and equitable society. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the speakers on the panel, comprising of Dr David Zammit, Mr Aaftab Khan, Dr Omar N'Shea, Ms Regine Nguini, and Mr Mohammad 'Dali' Ali Aguerbi. Their expertise and lived experiences enriched the discussion and inspired meaningful reflection among students.
