The Junior College hosted an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing for staff between 3rd and 5th December 2024, which focused on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), in collaboration with our Diversity Committee. This meeting was the third as part of a collaborative project, involving schools from Germany, France, Spain, Finland and Malta.
During their visit, the guests Finland, Spain, Germany and France were eager to learn about our approach to EDI in education and were particularly impressed by the broad range of educational programmes and committees offered at Junior College, many of which actively engage students in shaping a more inclusive and diverse learning environment. The variety of Enrichment Programmes, stood out as a key strength of our College.
The exchange featured a series of collaborative workshops, in which both our guest teachers and members of the Diversity Committee participated. These interactive sessions were designed to challenge participants to think critically about real-life situations related to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the school setting. Participants were encouraged to consider different perspectives and explore effective ways to address challenges they might encounter in their own institutions.
To provide a well-rounded experience, the visiting delegates were also given the opportunity to explore Malta's rich cultural heritage.
This was an enriching experience for both parties, where the collaboration between the Diversity Committee and our international counterparts highlighted the importance of sharing best practices and learning from one another as we continue to foster an inclusive educational experience for all students.
This project is co-funded through the Erasmus+ Accreditation Programme and coordinated by the JC International Office.
