English A level student Mila Scicluna Bartoli placed among the top three in the Creative Writing Workshops in English on the Personal Essay conducted by Prof Mario Aquilina from the Department of English, University of Malta. Mila was awarded a prize for her writing drawn from personal experience and noted for its maturity in thought and expression.
The two workshops form part of the Essays Beyond Borders (EBB) ERASMUS+ Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The project promotes the essay as a tool for civic engagement, strengthens the participants' critical and creative writing skills, and disseminates cutting-edge research on the essay and essayistic writing.
Around 70 students from Junior College, St Aloysius College, De La Salle College, and St Martin's College participated in the workshops.
