Dr Natasha Azzopardi Muscat has been elected as President of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) during the European Public Health Conference being held in Vienna at which over 2000 public health experts are expected to participate. Dr Azzopardi Muscat has served as President-Elect of the European Public Health Association since 2014. She succeeds Professor Martin McKee from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr Azzopardi Muscat is a lecturer in the Department of Health Services Management within the Faculty of Health Sciences. She is involved in several European research projects. Her research interests are European public health policy and health systems in small states and she and has authored several publications on these topics.
EUPHA is an umbrella organisation for national public health associations in Europe. It is an international, multidisciplinary, scientific organisation bringing together around 16,000 public health experts from European countries. EUPHA unites 37 national associations of public health and 20 institutional members. EUPHA aims to be an independent scientific voice in the field of public health and services by building capacity and knowledge in these fields and by supporting practice and policy decisions through scientific evidence.
