The European Chemistry Thematic Network Association (ECTNA) General Assembly 2017, which was held at the University of Malta on 3 and 4 April, elected Professor Emmanuel Sinagra to the post of President Elect of the Network. In this role he is vice-president for a year, until he becomes president for 3 years. Subsequent to that term, he will assume the role of vice-president again for a further 2 years.
ECTNA, a non-profit making association, is an outcome of six years (1996-2002) of networking activity. The Association was created to provide a sustainable future for the European Chemistry Thematic Network. The objectives of the Association include the enhancement of quality in chemistry degrees and to provide a pan-European framework for first cycle chemistry degrees.
The University of Malta is one of over a 100 members of the Association from 30 different European countries, and with associate members world-wide. Members include higher education institutions, national chemical societies.
