The University of Malta Students' Futsal Team have had an unforgettable start to the 2017/18 season, raking up 19 points from 6 wins, two draws against Elite Teams Hamrun Tre Angeli and Swieqi United and suffering defeat only at the hands of title challengers Valletta FC Futsal and Luxol SA Futsal. All the hard work, the blood, sweat and tears that came with clinching the momentary fourth place may still count for nothing if the Whites succumb to a fatal third defeat against Elite challengers Mriehel ESS Futsal.
The boys in blue from Mriehel have also had a very positive campaign, winning 6 matches and losing out against the top 4 sides (Valletta, Luxol, Swieqi and Hamrun) only. Mriehel trail UM Futsal by two points, and may only hope for a win to leapfrog the Knights at the end of a hard fought first round of the FMA Gatorade Championship.
The stakes cannot be higher, with both teams going into this match with one very precise objective : securing their place among the top dogs of Maltese Futsal! For the team representing the University of Malta, two results out of three would see them entering the Elite Pool of Maltese Futsal for the second consecutive season, whilst for Mriehel only a win will do to enable them to enter the top 5 group for the first time in their Club's history.
Emotions will run high, the tension is palpable, passion will make all the difference! The Knights need your support now more than ever! Come push our boys over the line one more time... #ForzaKnights #COYW #DareToAchieve
