Prof. Charles Savona-Ventura, Director of the Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at UM, was invited to present the Malta experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine during the 15th World Congress of Chinese Medicine held in Rome between 17-18 November, organised by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

Prof. Savona-Ventura presented the model Malta has adopted to clinically, educationally and legally incorporate TCM within the prevalent western medical practice.

After the conference on 22 November, a  delegation of 25 Chinese TCM professionals from the Guangdong Provincial Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences visited and toured the facilities at the University of Malta's Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Health and Wellness Centre.
