A half-day training session was recently organised by the Faculty for Social Wellbeing with the Maritime Squadron within the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM).
The aim behind this training session was for the Faculty for Social Wellbeing to share its expertise in the field of social wellbeing and in doing so, improving the Squadron’s quality of life in their workplace and even beyond that.
On behalf of the Faculty of Social Wellbeing, Dr Trevor Calafato and Dr Sandra Scicluna (Department of Criminology) were involved in this activity. A group of Research Support Officers, namely Dr Andrew Camilleri, Annabelle Cuff and Samantha Pace Gasan, led by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Andrew Azzopardi, also participated.
On behalf of AFM, Colonel Mark Mallia, Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Malta, Lieutenant Jessica Galea, Lieutenant Colonel Etienne Scicluna (Commanding Officer of the Maritime Squadron), Major James Grixti (2nd in Command of the Maritime Squadron) and Staff Sergeant Eman Micallef (Squadron Sergeant Major), were all present.
The event proved so successful that discussions are underway to offer this training to other groups within the Army.
