Nurses’ Day 2019 was celebrated in the midst of global focus on climate change.
The Department of Nursing celebrated that day by pledging to a challenge to educate 5,000 nurses across Europe, about the impact of health care on the climate. We worked hard and rose to the challenge! We reached out to all nursing students and qualified nurses locally, and to the staff and students at tens of European Universities. We are guided by the belief that the essence of nursing is caring, and that includes caring for the environment too. We tried our best to do our part! Let's all keep trying further.

Heartfelt thanks to all nurse educators for their unfailing commitment to ensure the development an adequate nurse workforce, despite the upheaval in the mode of the delivery of all programmes, which the COVID-19 pandemic obliged.
Heaps of appreciation go to all nurses in clinical areas, UM alumni and all others, for their brave participation in the delivery of health care services during this pandemic and for co-operating and supporting us so generously with the delivery of our programmes. We are indeed very grateful!
Gratitude to all administrative, management and support staff at the UM and all hospitals and clinical areas for their great indispensable work.
We are indeed privileged to work with you all!
