Dr Melissa Formosa from the Department of Applied Biomedical Science within the Faculty of Health Sciences has been awarded the ASMBR (American Society of Bone and Mineral Research) Fund for Research and Education.
This grant programme provides funding to promising early career investigators to help them achieve more training and/or further enhance their research projects in the field of bone, mineral and musculoskeletal research.
Dr Formosa's project aims to investigate novel genetic factors implicated in familial osteoporosis using the zebrafish model.
