University of Malta Rector, Prof. Alfred J. Vella, paid a visit to the site of the Campus Hub project on the morning of 17 March 2021.
He was briefed by Mr Nazzareno Vassallo, Chairman of the Vassallo Group, and Mr Chris Vassallo, CEO of Campus Hub.
Campus Hub is the 690-room student residence complex being built just outside the Main University Msida Campus, on an 8,780 square metre area known as Ta’ Gjalpos.
The complex will also include an ancillary commercial space, student community amenities, a language school, lecture space, an office building an and underground car park accommodating over 450 cars.
The project is making use of an award-winning construction technology called ‘BubbleDeck’, which eliminates the concrete from the middle of a flat slab by replacing it with recycled plastic.
It is expected to be ready by the end of this year.
