Following the outcome of the assessment by the independent reviewers, the University of Malta (UM) has been awarded the HR Excellence in Research award on 30 July 2021. 

The award reflects the UM's commitment to continuously improve its human resource policies in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter & Code), notably the commitment to achieve fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures. Furthermore the ‘HR Excellence in Research’ award promotes stimulating and favourable work environment for researchers at the UM. 

The UM will now be listed on the EURAXESS portal under the header of 'HR Acknowledged Institutions', and vacancies advertised on EURAXESS will feature the ‘HR Excellence in Research’ icon. 

The HRS4R Committee will continue to work on the alignment of the UM's policies and procedures with the Charter & Code. Information on the progress may be found on the UM's HRS4R web page.
